Recent bandit attacks on communities in Kebbi State's Zuru Emirate have resulted in the tragic loss of 30 lives, as confirmed by Muhammad Gajere, Chairman of Zuru Local Government Area, and Hussaini Bena, Chairman of Danko Wasagu Local Government Area. The attacks, which primarily targeted Tadurga in Zuru LGA and Kyebu and Yar-Kuka in Danko Wasagu LGA (both part of the Waje District), also left several villagers injured. In Tadurga alone, 16 people were killed, while the combined toll for Kyebu and Yar-Kuka stood at 14 fatalities. Beyond the human cost, the assailants also looted valuable livestock and other possessions from the affected communities.

In response to the devastating events, Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Tafida, visited Tadurga to convey the state government's condolences to the bereaved families. During his visit, he assured residents that immediate measures are being undertaken to enhance security, specifically mentioning efforts to block all entry points leading into Tadurga and Kyebu. These actions are designed to prevent future occurrences and restore peace to the troubled areas. Senator Tafida also offered prayers for the departed souls, asking for strength for their grieving families.

As a gesture of support and assistance to the affected communities, Senator Tafida announced a significant donation of ₦50 million from the state government. This aid is equally divided, with ₦25 million allocated to Tadurga and ₦25 million to Kyebu, intended to provide modest assistance to families during their difficult time of mourning. The Chief of Dabai, Alhaji Suleman Dabai, commended the state government for its swift and decisive response, attributing recent improvements in regional security to the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris. This demonstrates a collaborative effort between local and state authorities to address the ongoing security challenges in the region.
