Doctors administered steroids to combat the infection, which he described as severe enough to leave him feeling "puffy-faced." The medical intervention allowed him to perform, though he noted feeling "jacked up on Mountain Dew" from the medication. The illness unfortunately forced him to cut short his stage time during the June 9 opening gig at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, and, for the first time on their joint tour, prevented him from performing a duet of Post Malone's F-1 Trillion track “Losers” with Malone himself. A grateful Jelly Roll also shared a clip of receiving a giant bouquet of "get well soon" flowers from his tourmate, Post Malone, expressing his deep affection and admiration for Malone, whom he often describes as "the nicest human in the world."

Adding to the personal turmoil, news broke just days after his health update that Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, had filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo. The 41-year-old "Save Me" singer filed for the dissolution of his marriage on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The couple had been married for nearly a decade, with their separation date listed as May 9. Despite the divorce, they plan to continue co-parenting his two children from previous relationships: 18-year-old daughter Bailee and nine-year-old son Noah. Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll share primary custody of Bailee.

Bunnie Xo, a prominent influencer and host of the "Dumb Blonde" podcast, has kept fans intrigued with her social media activity following the divorce announcement. On Wednesday, June 17, she posted a TikTok video teasing an upcoming podcast episode where she promises to address "everything." In the same video, she lip-synched to a snippet from an eight-year-old freestyle by Jelly Roll over G-Eazy’s “No Limit” beat, specifically the lines: “My girl super bad, she look like a human Barbie” and “I’ve been known to set it off, my b—h bad like Cardi.” Her caption, “Podcast coming… 🤏🏼 #jellyandbunnie,” further hinted at a revealing discussion.
