Shocking Human Trafficking Attempt in Manyinga: Man Arrested for Trying to Sell Niece

Police in Zambia's North-Western Province have arrested a man on suspicion of human trafficking following a tip-off. Commissioner of Police Brighton Siwale confirmed that the suspect, Abibson Chilomba, a resident of Muluwa area in Sikufule, Manyinga district, was taken into custody on Wednesday evening.
The alarming incident occurred around 19:00 hours on February 12th when local businesswoman Joyce Kayoya reported that Chilomba had approached her shop intending to sell his niece. Responding swiftly, police officers were dispatched immediately to prevent the crime.
Commissioner Siwale stated that officers successfully located and identified Chilomba based on the information provided.
He is now being held in police custody while investigations into this serious offence continue.
