SEVENTEEN Unveils Epic Disney+ Doc Series to Mark First Decade

Commemorating a decade since their formation, K-pop sensation SEVENTEEN is set to release a new four-part docuseries on Disney+ titled "SEVENTEEN: Our Chapter," beginning November 7. Produced by their label, Pledis Entertainment, this series will delve into the boy band's first ten years, offering an intimate look at their journey through interviews, captivating performance videos, and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from their rigorous training days and life on the road.

The docuseries promises a deep dive into the evolution of all thirteen members—S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. It will chart their path from their early beginnings, covering significant milestones such as their 2024-2025 world tour, which captivated over one million fans, their 9th fan meeting "SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND," and the creative process behind their fifth album, "HAPPY BURSTDAY." A new episode will be released every Friday, allowing fans to gradually explore the group's extensive history.

A one-minute teaser trailer for "SEVENTEEN: Our Chapter" was released on Wednesday, October 15, building anticipation for the series. The trailer retrospectively counts up the years from the group’s 2015 formation, showcasing a dynamic montage of their concert footage. Interspersed with these visuals, the members pose reflective and poignant questions about the extent of their global fame and longevity, asking, "How far can we go?", "for how long can we do this?", and "how honest should we be?".

The announcement of the docuseries also comes amidst significant personal developments for the band members. Approximately a month prior to the trailer’s release, Woozi and Hoshi enlisted in the South Korean army to fulfill their mandatory military service. Following a precedent set by other K-pop superstars like BTS, SEVENTEEN has confirmed that its individual members will release solo material throughout their two-year military stints. Notably, four members are exempt from military service: S.COUPS due to a knee injury, The8 and Jun as Chinese citizens, and Joshua as a U.S. citizen. Hoshi had previously addressed the inevitability of enlistment in a May interview with The Hollywood Reporter, stating, "This is something that has been inevitable for us all along. We have been prepared. We have a lot of projects that we have discussed with [Hybe] very thoroughly up until now."

Despite these changes, SEVENTEEN remains active on the touring circuit. The group is currently on their "NEW_ world tour," with upcoming engagements including shows in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 16, and Friday, October 17, followed by stops in Austin, Texas, Sunrise, Florida, and Washington, D.C., before concluding with ten performances across Japan.
