Seth Rogen Just Named the 'Funniest Living Human Being', and Now I'm Dying to See Him on 'The Studio'

Published 3 weeks ago5 minute read

Actor-comedian-filmmaker Seth Rogen is regarded as one of the most talented artists in the industry, who, with his work over the years, has managed to garner a loyal fan base. Not only does he star, but Rogen co-created The Studio with his frequent collaborator Evan Goldberg, along with Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez. The soft satire on Hollywood is loosely based on the experience Rogen and Goldberg had while working with Sony Pictures.

The Studio surprises the audience by giving them a peek into the life behind the camera, along with some of the jaw-dropping cameos. Critics noted that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have built the comedic tension brick by brick for every episode of The Studio, and viewers are just delighted to watch it through. The co-creator recently shared who, according to him, is the funniest living human, and now we cannot help but wonder if that actor is going to show up on The Studio.

There is no doubt or any sort of exaggeration when it comes to the fact that Seth Rogen and his frequent collaborator Evan Goldberg are regarded as icons of modern comedy. The two have gone on to give the audience some of the best works, including Superbad, Pineapple Express, This Is the End, Pam & Tommy, and others.

The duo’s work on The Studio is no less than brilliant, as they tend to give the audience a little sneak peek into the world of movie-making, but also showcase the challenges that come along while making one. Rogen and Goldberg managed to get incredible artists to star in the show, including Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Bryan Cranston, Chase Sui Wonders, and Ike Barinholtz.

They also got Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron, Greta Lee, Sarah Polley, Anthony Mackie, Zac Efron, Olivia Wilde, and more to star as themselves in a cameo. Now isn’t that a sign of brilliant movie-making? But I am wondering when an actor who, according to Seth Rogen, is the ‘funniest living human’ will show up on the show and blow us away with his comic timing.

Rogen recently appeared on The Criterion Channel, where he admits that he finds the action superstar, Jackie Chan the funniest. He said,

Jackie Chan! Wow. My Lucky Stars, that’s a great movie. Jackie Chan’s the best. Funniest living human being, Jackie Chan. Hands down.

This remark has made me, and just like me, more movie fanatics wonder if Jackie Chan would show up in an episode of The Studio portraying, well, himself. With a list of some of the amazing cameos on the show and Rogen’s comment about Chan being the funniest living human, it kind of wants the audience to want the action superstar to showcase his comic skills. And it does.

Now it’s no secret that the world admires Jackie Chan for who he is and has gone back to watching his movies for his action again and again. However, the fact that the actor has extraordinary comic timing makes me, and I am hoping the viewers are eager for his appearance on the show. His characters have a sense of humor, and he is brilliant in selling comedy in a choreographed scene, and it’s something I’d like to see in The Studio if Rogen and Goldberg have to offer.

Chan, who has worked in nearly 150 films, is known as the king of action comedy, so maybe he can appear in The Studio, where some sort of action is required, and he is the one Rogen’s character goes up to. Well, just give us Jackie Chan in any form; I’m sure the audience is simply going to love that.

Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston portrays Griffin Mill, Continental’s CEO, in The Studio. The character who is above Rogen’s character in the corporate food chain is pretty much a laid-back character who urges Matt to be ‘as vicious and unfeeling as possible.’ Mill wants Remick to overpower the directors and actors he’s been working alongside.

Seth Rogen, in his conversation with EW, speaks about the character and shares that initially the role was written much more straight, like a Michael Lynton-type of guy—a boring, scary suit kind of a guy. But the creators of the show realized that maybe Lynton was not the right kind of inspiration for the character, so they turned towards another.

It’s funny because I’ve met David Zaslav, for example; he’s much more like Bryan in this. He’s kind of like a mover and a shaker, and he’s like a fun guy, and he knows his reputation, so he wants to present himself as kind of cool and loose.

Rogen goes on to share that the dichotomy of being a cool guy in Hollywood who is spewing the most commercial, anti-creative words one could say rang much more true to their experience in the industry. He added that made the character of Griffin Mill less like a caricature and more like how the executive guys are.

The co-creator and actor mentioned that such characters are social, friends with billionaires and movie stars, and kind of cool, but would end up f***ing destroying one if it’s going to make them more money. Mill has a perfect balance of comedy and drama in his nature, making Cranston a perfect fit for the role.
