Seth Rogen Drops Bombshell: "No Plans" for Future Collaborations with James Franco

Seth Rogen recently revealed to The New York Times that he has not communicated with James Franco in a significant period and harbors no intentions of future collaboration. This public statement addresses the evolving dynamics of their relationship following severe allegations of sexual misconduct against Franco. Rogen explained that the intricate nuances of their personal connection are too private to elaborate on, maintaining a consistent public stance that his actions, specifically not working with Franco for years, serve as testament to his position.

Historically, Rogen and Franco formed a formidable comedic duo in Hollywood. Their professional partnership originated on Paul Feig’s acclaimed coming-of-age series, “Freaks and Geeks,” which premiered on NBC in late 1999 when Rogen was 16 and Franco 21. Their successful collaborations extended into the 2000s and 2010s, featuring in popular comedy films such as “Knocked Up,” “Pineapple Express,” “This Is the End,” and “The Interview,” solidifying their status as a well-recognized pair.

Franco’s career faced a significant setback in 2018 after five women, including four of his acting students, came forward with accusations of sexually exploitative behavior. He stated, "I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James, and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now."

James Franco, in a 2024 interview with Variety, also addressed the state of their relationship from his perspective. He confirmed, "No. I haven’t talked to Seth." While expressing enduring affection, he acknowledged the end of their professional bond: "I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it’s over. And not for lack of trying.
