revealed on 3 January that former Leicester manager Steve Cooper is one of four frontrunners for the Rangers manager position.

Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes and former Southampton boss Russell Martin have also been linked with the role, while Kevin Muscat remains in the running.

Now, their attentions have turned to Dyche, whose experience, track record, and man-management skills have been highlighted as assets for Rangers.

Speaking on the latest edition of , Robinson explained that Dyche’s style of football may not excite the fans, but he would guarantee results.

He’s one of the man-managers that I really got on with and understood,” he told

“You can understand the criticism aimed at his style of football and the way his teams play, but he gets results.

“I think that criticism has been unfairly escalated because of howe well David Moyes has done at Everton.

“Dyche is an extremely experienced manager, he’s tried and tested and a great man-manager.

“He’s not going to be in a rush to get back into the game, and there will be Premier League jobs and an opportunity to get back into the Premier League.

“For Rangers, they might look at him and ask whether they want to play that style of football.

“If he comes in, they’ll be resilient and hard to beat. It may not be pretty at times, but they’ll get results and for Rangers that’s what it’s all about, beating the other lot.

“It could be a good fit, but I don’t think it would excite them.”

Pressure on Clement’s position is nothing new, with fans having been calling for his head as a result of a significantly underwhelming season at Ibrox.

Despite a 3-1 win against Hearts at Tynecastle last time out, supporters have suggested that Clement has lost the dressing room at Rangers as rumours continue to swirl.

However, CEO Patrick Stewart recently confirmed that the boss will remain in his post for now thanks to his success in Europe so far this season.

Amid takeover talks at Ibrox, though, the situation has become more cloudy as uncertainty continues to grow both amongst the fans and behind the scenes at Rangers.
