, former England and Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson explained that the boss has allowed his players to thrive in a new system and has given them the opportunity to impress.

Beto was singled out as an example of that positive change, with his recent performances a stark contrast from those he showed under Sean Dyche’s management.

Meanwhile, keeping the core of the squad including the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite together during the January transfer window has allowed them to maintain stability.

As a result, Robinson has insisted the Toffees are now “all but safe” from relegation despite the growing fears of the drop before Moyes’ arrival.

Everton are still 16th in the Premier League table, but have built a nine-point gap between themselves and Leicester in the first relegation place.

Moyes’ early success at Goodison Park was underlined by their performance against the Foxes during a 4-0 win where Beto grabbed a brace and looked a changed man in front of goal.

Robinson has insisted the dramatic turnaround in the style of play and amount of goals they’re scoring has been a huge boost – and backed the manager to keep on improving if he is given funds to strengthen his squad in the summer.

“It’s the turnaround in the style of play and the goals they’re scoring,” he told

“Even Beto is scoring goals. I mean, he looked a huge waste of money, didn’t he about three or four months ago?

“He wasn’t getting goals and didn’t suit the system at all.

“Maybe it’s to David Moyes‘ detriment that he can do the job with the players he’s got, but they’re only going to get better if he’s allowed to strengthen the squad.

“The big thing for them was keeping players like Jarrad Branthwaite.

“He’s kept a nucleus of a squad that performed well with points deductions in the last two seasons.

“Actually, Moyes has shown that he can get better performances out of that group of players.

“Maybe they didn’t go rushing into the market because you can give those players a fresh start, a clean slate, and they’ve got the opportunity to impress the new manager.

“Now, they’re as good as safe aren’t they?”

After helping to transform the way his team are playing this season, Moyes has already set his sights on how to improve come the summer window.

revealed on 9 February that the boss is the driving force behind a new plan to sign young, British talent and develop them into stars at Goodison Park.

This comes after he saw previous success recruiting from the EFL with the likes of Phil Jagielka and Tim Cahill during his first stint at the club.

He was also key to the signing of Jarrod Bowen at West Ham, who went on to secure European silverware for the Hammers, and is keen to recreate that style of signing for Everton.
