Nigeria's Stock Market's Recent Gains

Nigeria's stock market experienced its fourth consecutive day of gains on Thursday, driven by active trading and positive investor sentiment. According to Vetiva Research analysts, selective buying is expected to continue as investor confidence remains high. The All-Share Index (ASI) rose by 0.35% to close at 109,231.96 points, surpassing the 109,000.19 points from the previous day. Market capitalization also increased, settling at N68.652 trillion, a gain of N145 billion for investors on Thursday.

The sustained upward momentum has pushed the market's weekly gain to 3.01%, with a month-to-date return of 3.24%. The year-to-date return now stands at 6.13%, indicating growing investor confidence. On Thursday, investors traded 554,069,040 shares worth N14.347 billion across 16,704 deals. Actively traded stocks included Fidelity Bank, Access Holdings, Tantalizers, GTCO, and First Holdo.
