Chhapra: A 55-year-old woman died while six members of her family sustained injuries when the bus they were travelling in dashed against a road divider and overturned on the NH 27 near Lahil in Kishangnanj district on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Kanti Devi, wife of Rana Sah, and resident of Maker Bazaar in Saran district.
According to sources, after the accident, locals rushed to the spot and rushed injured persons to hospital in Chakulia (Bengal) and Kishanganj. Kishanganj is a border district of Bihar and the NH 27 passes through some portion of North Bengal.
Besides the deceased, her husband Rana Sah, Son Sanjit and Mukesh, daughter Chandini and daughter-in-law, Kajal Devi sustained injury in the accident. The family members had gone to Siliguri to perform the marriage of Chandini. Attempts to contact Kishanganj SP, and local SHO failed, while police officials in Saran expressed ignorance.
