PM Modi to visit Bihar and Haryana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to make significant visits to both Bihar and Haryana in April 2025, focusing on development projects and key governmental initiatives. These visits underscore the Modi administration's commitment to regional development and its focus on grassroots governance and infrastructure enhancement.

Bihar Visit: Panchayati Raj Diwas Celebration

On April 24, 2025, PM Modi is expected to visit Bihar to participate in the 'Panchayati Raj Day' event. This was announced by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, who dismissed any political intentions behind the visit, emphasizing its primary focus on Panchayati Raj. A meeting was held at the state BJP headquarters in Patna, where NDA leaders, including Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, convened to assess the preparations for the Prime Minister's visit to Madhubani district. Chouhan interacted via video conference with local officials to ensure all arrangements are in place for the event. Lalan Singh, also known as Rajiv Ranjan Singh, highlighted the historical importance of the PM's visit to Madhubani for Panchayat Diwas. The NDA in Bihar includes BJP, JD(U) led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), and several smaller allies.

Haryana Visit: Launching Development Projects on Ambedkar Jayanti

Prior to his Bihar visit, on April 14, 2025, which coincides with Bhim Rao Ambedkar's birth anniversary, Prime Minister Modi will be in Haryana to inaugurate and lay the foundation for multiple development projects. These projects include flagging off a commercial flight from Hisar to Ayodhya and laying the foundation stone for the new terminal building at Hisar airport. Furthermore, he will inaugurate an 800 MW thermal power unit in Yamuna Nagar.

The development initiatives in Haryana are diverse and aim to boost the state's infrastructure and connectivity. The new terminal building at the Maharaja Agrasen airport in Hisar, worth over Rs 410 crore, will feature a state-of-the-art passenger terminal, a cargo terminal, and an ATC building. The launch of scheduled flights from Hisar to Ayodhya (twice weekly) and additional flights to Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh will significantly enhance Haryana's aviation connectivity.

In Yamuna Nagar, Modi will lay the foundation stone for an 800 MW modern thermal power unit of the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant. This unit, spread across 233 acres and costing around Rs 8,470 crore, will substantially increase Haryana's energy self-sufficiency and ensure an uninterrupted power supply. Additionally, aligning with the 'Gobardhan' initiative, he will lay the foundation stone of a compressed biogas plant in Mukarabpur, Yamuna Nagar. This plant will have an annual production capacity of 2,600 metric tonnes and will aid in organic waste management, clean energy production, and environmental conservation.

Moreover, Modi will inaugurate the 14.4 km Rewari Bypass project, worth around Rs 1,070 crore under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, further improving road infrastructure in the state.

These visits to Bihar and Haryana demonstrate the Modi administration's focus on strengthening grassroots governance through Panchayati Raj institutions and enhancing regional development through significant infrastructure and energy projects. The initiatives are expected to have a lasting impact on the respective states, fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.
