Director Kabir Khan has confirmed that he is in regular discussions with Salman Khan about a possible sequel to Bajrangi Bhaijaan. However, both are in agreement that Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 will only move forward if they find a story that lives up to the emotional and cultural depth of the original. They are avoiding rushing into a sequel just for commercial reasons, stressing that the film's legacy must be preserved. While no script has been finalized, the idea remains open, and a sequel may happen in the future if the right narrative comes along.
