Rwanda - Uwizeye-number-one-in-Rwanda-D1-for-round-8-by-Hoops-Agents
International Center Assouma Uwizeye (182-C-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for APR BBC Kigali, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds, while her team outclassed Gahini (#9, 2-6) with 37-point margin 85-48. APR is placed at 3rd position in Rwandan D1. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. APR will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. In the team's last game Uwizeye had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at APR, through which she has constantly improved. Assouma Uwizeye has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (8th best: 14.9ppg), rebounds (5th best: 12.6rpg) and averages impressive 62.1% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was young Yvonne Muhawenimana (SG-2006) of
East Africa University. Muhawenimana had a very good evening with 41 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course she led EA Univ to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked UR BBC (#10, 1-9) 82-61. EA Univ's 5th position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 5-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Muhawenimana is one of the most experienced players at EA Univ and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.8ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 5.0rpg and 4.9apg.Third on the list of top players last round was another APR's star - international center Charlotte Umugwaneza (195-C-1984). Umugwaneza scored 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of APR BBC Kigali, helping her team with a
85-48 easy win against the lower-ranked Gahini (#9, 2-6). APR needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Umugwaneza has a great season in Rwanda. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.9ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 14.4rpg (2nd best). She also has 2.1bpg and a FGP of 53.8%.Other top performing players last week:

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
