Rüfüs Du Sol, Chase & Status Crowned Champions at 2025 DJ Awards!

The 24th edition of The DJ Awards, an independent and globally inclusive celebration of electronic music, took place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at ROTO Club in Ibiza Town, Ibiza, Spain. The ceremony honored a wide array of artists and industry professionals, featuring both publicly-voted genre-specific awards and jury-proposed industry and special recognition accolades. The event also demonstrated a commitment to social responsibility, announcing that a portion of its proceeds would be donated to the Spanish Red Cross (Creu Roja) to assist with recovery efforts following devastating floods in Ibiza.

Among the night's prominent winners were Rüfüs du Sol, who clinched the award for Live Act. The Australian alternative dance trio, previously a Grammy winner for best dance/electronic recording, continued their success. Chase & Status secured the Drums & Bass award, adding to their achievements, which include a BRIT Award for producer of the year in 2024. These victories underscore the artists' significant impact on the electronic music scene.

This year's awards introduced two new categories to reflect evolving trends and sounds within electronic music. The Balearic category, won by MINA, was established to honor the distinctive sound of Ibiza and the DJs who contribute to it. The Hard Dance/Bounce category, with Hannah Laing as its inaugural winner, acknowledged the genre's resurgence over the past year. These additions highlight the awards' dedication to recognizing diverse facets of DJ culture.

Founded in 1998 by Ibiza residents José Pascual and Lenny Krarup, The DJ Awards hold the distinction of being the longest-running international celebration of DJ culture. After a four-year hiatus, the ceremony successfully returned to Ibiza last fall. Andy Grant, who took over ownership of the awards last year, expressed enthusiasm for its return, stating, “It’s been incredible to see the DJ Awards come together once again for a second year since returning. This ceremony truly celebrates the heart of our culture, the artists who have inspired dance floors all around the world, and those in the industry who come together to make it all happen. What makes it even more special is that these accolades come directly from the public’s independent votes, honouring the DJs who’ve genuinely moved the people and dance floors this year.”
