Rod Stewart Health Scare: Tour Date Canceled After Medical Procedure

Sir Rod Stewart has been compelled to cancel a second consecutive performance this week, specifically his scheduled gig in Cleveland, following an earlier postponement in Cincinnati. The Cleveland cancellation was announced less than 24 hours after his Sunday night (August 9) show at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati was called off due to what the venue described as an "unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention."

According to a statement posted by Cleveland's Rocket Arena, doctors have advised Sir Rod Stewart to rest for at least 48 hours after a period of monitoring. Consequently, his performance on Tuesday, August 11th, at Rocket Arena in Cleveland was canceled. Stewart expressed his disappointment about missing the show and appreciated the understanding of his fans, stating he looks forward to returning to the stage soon. Refunds for the canceled shows are available at the point of purchase. At the time of reporting, a spokesperson for Stewart had not responded to Billboard's request for comment regarding the Cleveland cancellation or an update on his medical condition.

These recent cancellations add to a series of previous disruptions on Stewart's "One Last Time" tour, which has been ongoing for the past year. Earlier incidents include a June 19 show at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley City, where Stewart had to pause his performance after appearing unwell and doubling over, requiring the use of an oxygen tank. Additionally, he faced backlash after canceling a June 12 show in San Diego less than an hour before showtime, reportedly due to an acute upper respiratory infection causing laryngitis, only to be seen attending a Scotland World Cup match in Boston shortly thereafter.

Despite these setbacks, Stewart's tour currently has two more scheduled dates: August 14 at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines and August 15 at the Morton Amphitheater in Kansas City. Following these, he is set to return to Las Vegas for his "Encore Shows" residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, commencing on August 18. After the week-long Vegas run, Sir Rod Stewart is slated to resume his North American tour on September 1 with a performance at the Minnesota State Fair in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. Subsequent engagements include gigs at the Ravinia Festival in Illinois, a series of shows in Mexico, and a double-header at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, on September 2-3.
