RMD turns heads in stylish cultural attire at Lisabi Festival 2025
Actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, was among the celebrities who brought cultural flair to the grand finale of the Lisabi Festival 2025 held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The annual celebration brought together the Egba people to honour their legendary hero, Lisabi Agbongbo Akala—a fearless warrior remembered for liberating his people and inspiring unity among Egba sons and daughters worldwide.
This year’s edition, themed Ègbáliganza 2025, blended heritage with contemporary fashion, turning the festival into a vibrant showcase of traditional pride.
Attendees dazzled in colourful Ofi, Adire and other Afrocentric designs, with elaborate aso-oke, flowing agbadas and dramatic gele dominating the scene.
Royalty and political heavyweights were also in attendance.
The Alake of Egbaland and his high chiefs graced the event in regal attire, while former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Dapo Abiodun and PDP’s 2023 governorship candidate Ladi Adebutu added to the high-profile guest list.
RMD shared photos and a video of himself at the event , dressed in full cultural regalia.
He wrote, “Honoured to be part of the vibrant celebrations at the Lisabi Festival 2025 in Abeokuta. Such an incredible experience! Big thanks to @lai_labode and @egbaleganza for having me.”
