The former deputy president and his wife turned heads on Thursday, May 15, at the official launch of DCP in Lavington, Nairobi.

Gachagua made a dramatic fashion statement in a burnt orange suit, radiating confidence and a fresh vision for Kenya's political scene.

Pastor Dorcas wore a neon green suit to complement his outfit, capturing both elegance and the official colours of the event.

Registered in February 2025, the DCP has neon green, brown, and white as its official colours; its emblem shows a hand stroking an ear to represent sensitivity to the people's voice.

The party's slogan, 'Kazi Na Haki' (Work and Justice), emphasises its dedication to fair service delivery and citizen empowerment.

The couple’s fashionable appearance sparked excitement on social media, with many Kenyans praising their stylish looks.

For Gachagua, the founding of the DCP marks a major political turning point; his fashion statement at the event just added to the frenzy.

One thing is clear: Gachagua and Dorcas have perfected the art of making an entrance. However, how the new party will function on the political scene remains to be seen.

Here is what they had to say:

Omwana Wanga Okaro:

"Dorcas anapiga luku sana she was perfect as the second lady. I loved to watch her at events."

Lena Kizangale:

"Wow, they look amazing! Power couple goals right there,"

Mary Kinyua:

"Mama boys haezi dissapoint."

Timothy Monkhouse:

"That orange on Gachagua is everything! And mama Dorcas looks so elegant in lime green."

DCP also released a collection of rallying songs meant to inspire supporters and focus its message in what is likely to be a brutal political contest against President William Ruto.

Two of the songs, one in Kiswahili and another in English, have strong themes on economic emancipation, listening to people, and enlarging democratic space.

The songs challenge Kenyans to reject repressive policies and come together in the face of financial difficulty.

Already popular online, the songs form a major component of DCP's identity as a grassroots organisation striving to " redeem the payslip" and, therefore, restore dignity to common Kenyans.

In other news, the former deputy president's launch erupted into chaos after alleged goons stormed the launch.

The crowd erupted into chaos after gunshots.

Gachagua introduced Cleophas Malala as the interim party leader.

Hours before the launch former CS Moses Kuria mocked Gachagua's new party.
