A suspect linked to the invasion and destruction of property at Kitengela Sub-County Hospital during the July 7 protests has been arrested, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has confirmed.

Elvis Otieno Owino was identified through CCTV footage as one of the individuals involved in the attack that targeted the health facility during the Monday Saba Saba demonstrations.

Following his arrest, Owino led detectives to his rented residence in Noonkopir, where investigators recovered a black Marvin cap and a grey jacket, clothing he is believed to have worn during the incident.

He is currently in custody as investigations continue, with authorities pursuing additional suspects linked to the hospital invasion.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 7, when a group of goons stormed Kitengela Health Centre at the height of the Saba Saba protests.

The goons disrupted medical services, including an ongoing Caesarean section, vandalised the theatre, and lit a fire at the hospital gate.
