Police arrest 2 over phone theft in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in the theft and subsequent resale of mobile phones at the bustling Beirut phone market. SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command's spokesperson, officially confirmed the arrests, shedding light on the details surrounding the incident.
According to the police report, the unfolding of events led to the initial apprehension of Tasi'u Ibrahim, a resident of Sheka, by vigilant traders within the market. Ibrahim was allegedly caught in the act of attempting to steal a mobile phone from one of the shops. However, his accomplice managed to evade immediate capture, fleeing the scene with a stolen device in hand.
Subsequent police investigations led to the arrest of Abduljabbar Musa Sheka, also a resident of Sheka. Sheka is suspected of being the receiver and reseller of the stolen mobile phones, playing a crucial role in the illicit operation. Both suspects are currently in police custody, facing a thorough investigation into their activities.
The police have indicated that upon completion of the ongoing investigation, the suspects will be formally charged in court, marking the next phase in the legal proceedings.
