President Mahama Reassures Public on Promises

President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his dedication to upholding the social contract he has established with the people of Ghana. During a special congregational prayer held at Black Star Square in Accra on Monday, March 31, 2025, to commemorate the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, President Mahama emphasized his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of all Ghanaians, regardless of their background or faith.
"My brothers and sisters, my promises are not just words. They represent a solemn commitment to enhance the lives of every Ghanaian, irrespective of their background or their faith," he stated. He outlined key areas of focus, including education, healthcare, job creation, and infrastructure development, with the goal of ensuring that every citizen benefits from the nation's progress.
President Mahama acknowledged the progress made in improving the welfare of Ghanaians, particularly those in Muslim communities. However, he stressed the importance of further investments in quality education, healthcare facilities, and job opportunities to empower the youth and enable them to reach their full potential. He affirmed the need to address developmental disparities within Muslim communities to ensure they catch up with the rest of the country.
"We must do more to ensure that the development in our Muslim communities is balanced and catches up with the rest of the country. We must invest in quality education for our children. We must improve health care facilities and create opportunities that will help our youth to achieve their full potential," President Mahama stated.
The President underscored the transformative power of education and encouraged Muslim youth to embrace it wholeheartedly. He emphasized that education serves as a crucial pathway for social mobility and cited Islamic teachings that emphasize the lifelong pursuit of knowledge for every Muslim. "Education remains the most powerful tool for change and I want to encourage our Muslim youth to embrace it fully. Education is our opportunity for social mobility. Islam itself teaches us that seeking knowledge is a lifelong duty for every Muslim," he added.
