Ken Agyapong: NPP Unity is Crucial for Victory

Outspoken politician and former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has emphasized the critical need for unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if it hopes to secure victory in the 2028 general elections. Speaking at a TESCON General Meeting and Freshers' Orientation at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on Sunday, Agyapong asserted that a divided party would face continuous defeat, regardless of its flagbearer.
"If the NPP wants to return to power, without unity, we will lose—even if you bring Jesus to lead," he declared. The businessman and politician urged party leaders to prioritize unity and foster a spirit of forgiveness. He emphasized the importance of reconciliation among members, stating, "The only people who become better in society are those who forgive their friends and brothers who offend them."
Kennedy Agyapong further underscored the necessity of forming a strong, unified front to effectively compete in the upcoming elections. He took the opportunity to personally extend forgiveness to anyone who may have offended him and, in turn, sought forgiveness from those he may have wronged. "I stand here to declare that anyone who has offended me in one way or another, I forgive them. Likewise, I seek forgiveness from anyone I have wronged. Kindly forgive me for the sake of the party," he appealed, emphasizing that forgiveness and unity are the only paths to securing victory in 2028.
Acknowledging potential past neglect and resentment felt by TESCON members, Kennedy Agyapong encouraged them to set aside any grievances and rally behind the party to ensure victory in 2028. He pledged that any past mistakes made by the party toward TESCON members would not be repeated. Concluding his address, he donated GH¢20,000 to support KNUST TESCON, with a focus on the Freshers' project, and further pledged his unwavering support for TESCON members.
