Pete Davidson Set to Become a Dad with Elsie Hewitt

Comedian Pete Davidson, 31, and model Elsie Hewitt, 29, are joyfully preparing to welcome their first child together. Hewitt made the exciting announcement on Wednesday, July 16, taking to Instagram to share a series of intimate photos and videos, including ultrasound footage and images of Davidson affectionately cradling her growing baby bump. “Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” Elsie cheekily captioned her post, marking a candid yet on-brand revelation for the couple who have largely kept their relationship private.

Davidson, while not active on social media himself, confirmed the news and openly shared his enthusiasm for impending fatherhood in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 22. “I honestly couldn’t be more excited,” Pete shared, adding, “It’s been my dream forever since I was a little kid.” He further praised Hewitt, stating, “The baby’s mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist ever. She’s going to be a great mom and I’m just stoked. I hope to be the dad I hoped that I would have.”

Fatherhood has long been a significant life goal for Davidson. He expressed this aspiration during a 2022 conversation with fellow comedian Kevin Hart, saying, “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid. It’s like my dream.” He elaborated on his excitement for this new chapter: “It would be so fun to dress up a little dude. I’m so excited for, like, that chapter. So that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now. I’m trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens, it’s just easier.”

This emotional journey to fatherhood holds particular significance for Davidson, whose own father, a New York City firefighter, tragically passed away during the September 11, 2001, attacks when Pete was just seven years old. He has frequently spoken about this loss throughout his career. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Davidson reflected on how his perspective has shifted since the pregnancy news, stating, “Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s nice.”

Davidson and Hewitt have maintained a relatively private relationship, a notable contrast to some of Pete’s past high-profile romances. According to the Associated Press, they were first publicly linked in March after being spotted together in Palm Springs. Hewitt later made their relationship Instagram official with a candid photo of Davidson, and they have since made occasional red carpet appearances and shared playful public displays of affection. Hewitt has also been previously linked to Ryan Phillippe, Benny Blanco, and Jason Sudeikis.

The announcement garnered thousands of congratulatory messages from friends and fans alike. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, a close friend of Davidson, commented, “These playdates bout to hittttt,” referencing his own recent experience of welcoming a daughter with ex-girlfriend Megan Fox. Model Meredith Mickelson, Hewitt’s best friend, also shared her joy, writing, “My bestie is having my mini bestie which means my life is complete,” adding, “I’M SO HAPPY. BEST MOMMY EVERRRRR.” A source for E! News also revealed that Davidson’s mother, Amy Waters, is “thrilled” about becoming a grandmother.

In addition to this happy news, Elsie Hewitt has been open about her personal struggle with endometriosis. She underwent surgery for the condition in November and later discussed her symptoms and the impact of the pain on her life in December via TikTok. Hewitt explained how endometriosis has led to lost opportunities, stating that it can be a “liability” to work if she might need to go to the emergency room or if the pain prevents her from working.
