Pete Davidson's Paternity Shock: Comedy Star Welcomes Unexpected Baby News

Comedian Pete Davidson, 31, and model Elsie Hewitt, 29, are embarking on a new chapter as they announce they are expecting their first child together. Hewitt revealed the joyous news on Wednesday, July 16, via an Instagram post featuring multiple photos of the couple and ultrasound videos. Her cheeky caption, “Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” humorously confirmed their exciting development. Davidson, who does not use social media, later expressed his overwhelming excitement in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 22, stating, “I honestly couldn’t be more excited. It’s been my dream forever since I was a little kid. The baby’s mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist ever. She’s going to be a great mom and I’m just stoked. I hope to be the dad I hoped that I would have.”

Becoming a father has long been a profound aspiration for Davidson. In a 2022 conversation with fellow comedian Kevin Hart, he articulated this dream, saying, “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid. It’s like my dream.” He added, “It would be so fun to dress up a little dude. I’m so excited for, like, that chapter. So that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now. I’m trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens, it’s just easier.” This sentiment was echoed during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he reflected on his shifting perspective, noting, “Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s nice.” The comedian’s father, a New York City firefighter, tragically died during the September 11, 2001 attacks when Davidson was just seven years old, a loss he has frequently discussed, undoubtedly shaping his desire for fatherhood.

The couple's relationship has largely remained private since they were first publicly linked in March, as reported by the Associated Press. They were spotted together in Palm Springs, and Hewitt subsequently made their relationship Instagram official with a candid photo of Davidson. While their relationship has been more low-key compared to Davidson’s previous high-profile romances, they have occasionally shared red carpet appearances and playful public displays of affection. Hewitt has also been open about her personal health struggles, specifically with endometriosis. She underwent surgery for the condition in November and later took to TikTok in December to discuss the chronic pain and symptoms she experiences, noting the impact it has had on her professional opportunities due to its debilitating nature.

The news of their pregnancy has been met with an outpouring of congratulations from friends and family. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, a close friend of Davidson, enthusiastically commented on Hewitt’s post, “These playdates bout to hittttt,” referencing his own daughter, whom he welcomed earlier this year with ex-girlfriend Megan Fox. Meredith Mickelson, Hewitt’s best friend and fellow model, also shared her excitement, writing, “My bestie is having my mini bestie which means my life is complete. HEHEHEHEHEHE. I’M SO HAPPY. BEST MOMMY EVERRRRR.” Furthermore, a source for E! News revealed that Davidson’s mother, Amy Waters, is “thrilled” about the news and “can’t wait to become a grandma!”
