Pete Davidson's Fatherhood Dreams Come True with Elsie Hewitt Baby News

Comedian Pete Davidson, 31, and model Elsie Hewitt, 29, are embarking on an exciting new chapter as they prepare to welcome their first child together. The news was first revealed by Hewitt on Wednesday, July 16, through an Instagram post that included a series of intimate photos of the couple and videos from an ultrasound. Her playful caption, “Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” quickly spread the happy announcement.

Davidson, who does not use social media himself, confirmed the news and shared his profound excitement about impending fatherhood in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 22. “I honestly couldn’t be more excited,” Pete shared. “It’s been my dream forever since I was a little kid. The baby’s mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist ever. She’s going to be a great mom and I’m just stoked. I hope to be the dad I hoped that I would have.” He further reflected on his emotional journey during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, stating, “Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s nice.”

The desire to be a father has been a long-held dream for Davidson. In a 2022 conversation with fellow comedian Kevin Hart, he expressed, “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid. It’s like my dream.” He added, “It would be so fun to dress up a little dude. I’m so excited for, like, that chapter. So that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now. I’m trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens, it’s just easier.” This aspiration is particularly poignant given that Davidson’s father, a New York City firefighter, tragically passed away during the September 11 attacks in 2001 when Pete was only seven years old—a loss he has often spoken about publicly.

The couple's relationship has been notably private, a stark contrast to Davidson’s past headline-making romances with celebrities such as Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, and Madelyn Cline. According to the Associated Press, Pete and Elsie were first spotted together publicly in Palm Springs in March. Days later, Elsie made their relationship Instagram official with a candid photo of Pete, and they have since shared occasional red carpet appearances and playful public displays of affection. Hewitt has also previously been linked to Ryan Phillippe, Benny Blanco, and Jason Sudeikis.

Reactions to the pregnancy news have been overwhelmingly positive from friends and family. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, a close friend of Davidson, commented on Hewitt’s post, “These playdates bout to hittttt.” MGK himself welcomed a daughter with ex-girlfriend Megan Fox earlier this year and had previously revealed that Davidson would be a groomsman in his wedding. Elsie’s best friend, fellow model Meredith Mickelson, also shared her excitement, writing, “My bestie is having my mini bestie which means my life is complete,” and later adding, “HEHEHEHEHEHE. I’M SO HAPPY. BEST MOMMY EVERRRRR.” Furthermore, a source for E! News confirmed that Davidson’s mother, Amy Waters, is “thrilled” about the news and “can’t wait to become a grandma!”

Elsie Hewitt has also been open about her personal health journey, having struggled with endometriosis. She underwent surgery for the condition in November and later discussed her symptoms and the pain she experienced in a TikTok video in December. Hewitt highlighted how her condition had impacted her career, stating, “The amount of opportunities I’ve lost out on because I can’t work when I’m feeling this way, or it’s like a liability to be on set, if I might have to go to the emergency room, or if I can’t work because money is at stake,” noting that her symptoms have progressively worsened over the years.
