PDP Power Play: Ex-Jigawa Governor Lamido Enters Fiery Race for National Chairmanship!

Alhaji Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa State, has formally announced his intention to contest for the esteemed position of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This significant declaration was made public by Lamido on Monday, October 27, 2025, through a post on his verified Facebook page, signaling his readiness to assume a leadership role within one of Nigeria's major political parties. He further revealed his immediate plans to visit the party’s national secretariat in Abuja to procure the necessary nomination form for his candidacy.

In his official statement, Lamido articulated his commitment, stating, "By the grace of God, I shall today, Monday 27th October 2025, by 11 a.m., be at Wadata Plaza, the National Headquarters of our very party, Peoples Democratic Party, to purchase the nomination form to run for the office of the National Chairman of the Party." As a veteran member of the PDP, who has maintained a prominent and influential voice within its ranks for many years, Lamido seeks to guide the party forward. The PDP, which historically governed Nigeria from 1999 to 2015, is currently gearing up for its crucial national convention, scheduled to take place next month in Ibadan, Oyo State, where a new National Chairman and other key party officials are expected to be elected.
