A high-level delegation from the leadership of Parliament and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday, July 8, paid a solemn visit to the family home of the late Ernest Yaw Kumi, Member of Parliament for Akwatia, to offer condolences following his sudden passing.

The delegation was led by the Clerk of Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, and included both Majority and Minority Leaders, as well as other distinguished members of the House and party stalwarts.

Together, they extended their sympathies to the bereaved family and signed a book of condolence opened in honour of the late MP.

The atmosphere at the residence was filled with deep sorrow and reflection, as family members, friends, and sympathisers mourned the loss of a man many described as dedicated, warm, and impactful.

Grief-stricken mourners were seen embracing one another, recalling fond memories, and openly weeping over the loss of a leader whose political career had only just begun.

Some wore traditional mourning attire—black and red—while others held on to photographs and personal mementoes that symbolised the lasting impression Mr. Kumi made on those around him, both within the political arena and in his community.

A book of condolence remains open at the family home, providing an opportunity for the public to pay tribute to Ernest Kumi’s life, service, and enduring legacy.
