Outrage Erupts as Mummy Blogger Reveals Baby Name, Parents Demand Child Sue for 'Embarrassment'

Mummy blogger Aubree Jones has once again found herself at the center of a social media storm following the announcement of her fifth daughter's unique name. Aubree and her husband, Josh, are well-known for their unconventional choices, having previously named their daughters Trendy, Sunny, Zaylee, Truly, and Journey.

The couple continued this trend with their newest addition, revealing on TikTok that they chose to name their baby girl Disney Mae Jones. Aubree shared a video of the infant wearing Minnie Mouse ears, with the overlaid text proclaiming, "Welcome to the world... Disney Mae Jones!" In her caption, she expressed joy, stating, "We’re so excited to welcome this sweet little baby into our home. We’re all smitten and so in love. It’s been truly magical having her. Here’s to our family’s happily ever after!"

However, the announcement quickly ignited a flurry of criticism in the comments section. Many users questioned the choice, with one exclaiming, "Are you kidding me!! Why!!" Another predicted the child would change her name later, urging the parents to "enjoy it while she has it." Some commenters went further, suggesting that parents who choose such names should "adopt pets instead of having kids" or that children given "ridiculous" names should sue their parents for emotional damage and embarrassment. The sentiment that name rules, similar to those in Australia, should be universally adopted was also voiced, emphasizing the long-term impact of a name on an adult.

Despite the backlash, a significant number of people rallied to defend Aubree and Josh's right to name their children as they wish. Supporters called Disney a "beautiful name," with one pediatric nurse noting it wasn't the first time she had encountered a child named Disney. Other comments praised the name as "lovely for a wee girl" and extended congratulations to the family, challenging critics to "Grow up people."

Responding to the polarized reactions, Aubree reiterated her family's stance, stating that her children have never experienced bullying or mockery over their unique names outside of social media. She emphasized that her children "all love their unique names" and that the new baby's name would "fit right in with hers," dismissing the online negativity as distinct from their real-life experiences.
