Outage Updates: Thousands without power as severe weather alerts begin to expire

7,570 customers without power mostly south of Battle Creek with a few new spots north near Barry County and west in Grand Junction.

5,653 customers without power mostly south of Battle Creek.

About 4,900 Consumers Energy (CE) customers are without power as West Michigan has begun to get hit by severe weather, according to the CE outages map.

In Colon, about 2,000 are in the dark, 852 near Grand Junction and the rest scattered through the Battle Creek area.

No estimated restoration time has been provided yet but News Channel 3 will provide updates as we receive them.

A tornado warning for Branch County was issued Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. and is in effect until 6:13 p.m. The southern counties of West Michigan are under severe thunderstorm warnings until 10 p.m.
