Orange & yellow alerts issued: Heavy rain alert forecast for 17 districts in MP

Bhopal: Met officials on Monday issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in at least 17 districts of Madhya Pradesh.The districts where the yellow alert was issued for Tuesday include Ratlam, Agar, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Shivpuri, Morena, Sheopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Panna, Chhattarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari.Similarly, for Thursday, met officials issued an orange alert for extremely heavy rainfall in Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Anuppur, and Shahdol districts.For the state capital Bhopal, met officials said that the sky is likely to remain partially cloudy, and medium to heavy rainfall may be expected. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Bhopal are likely to remain between 28 and 24 degrees.Met officials on Monday said, "During the last 24 hours, rainfall was recorded at a few places in the Rewa division; at many places in Indore, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Shahdol, and Sagar divisions; at most places in Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Chambal divisions, and remained dry in other divisions of the state.

In the last 24 hours, maximum temperatures rose appreciably by 2.8-3.5 degrees in districts of the Rewa and Sagar divisions, with no significant changes in the districts of the remaining divisions.

They were markedly below normal by 5.8 degrees in districts of the Gwalior division; appreciably below normal by 4.5 degrees in districts of the Sagar division; below normal by 1.7-2.9°C in districts of the Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Shahdol divisions, and remained normal in all the remaining divisions of the state. In the last 24 hours, no significant changes were recorded in minimum temperatures in all the divisions of the state. They were below normal by 1.6-2.5 degrees in districts of the Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, and Gwalior divisions; appreciably above normal by 3.1 degrees in districts of the Shahdol division, and remained normal in all the remaining divisions of the state."
