Plans are officially underway for the construction of the Quay 7 Superyacht Marina, a new superyacht hub located within the V&A Waterfront's existing harbour precinct in Cape Town. The V&A Waterfront has committed R230 million to this significant development, which is an integral part of its larger R20-billion Granger Bay precinct expansion.

The Quay 7 Superyacht Marina will be strategically situated in front of the new Cape Town EDITION hotel, offering panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, the anticipated arrival point for superyacht owners. The marina is designed to accommodate a substantial number of vessels, featuring eight berths in total. This includes six stern-in spaces and two beam-on spaces, capable of hosting superyachts up to 90 metres in length. State-of-the-art floating jetties will provide essential amenities such as electricity, water, and Wi-Fi. Furthermore, a convenient FFS refuelling facility will be available at Elbow Quay for all fuel requirements.

Beyond its primary role of hosting superyachts during peak seasons, the Quay 7 hub is also set to play a crucial part in supporting Cape Town's thriving catamaran manufacturing industry during the off-season. It will facilitate the commissioning and export preparation of vessels from renowned local manufacturers like Robertson and Caine, Two Oceans Marine, and Balance Catamarans.

The V&A Waterfront anticipates the completion of the Quay 7 Superyacht Marina's construction by October 2026. This new infrastructure is expected to significantly enhance Cape Town's appeal as a premier destination for superyacht owners, opening up new avenues for luxury marine tourism.
