Oasis Mania: Reunion Hype Ignites Tour & Album Speculation Amidst TicketMaster Battle!

Andy Bell has confirmed his plan to rejoin Oasis for their highly anticipated reunion tour, set to kick off in July 2025. Bell, who played with Oasis from 1999 to 2009 and later with Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye, brings valuable experience for navigating the dynamics between Liam and Noel Gallagher. He confirmed his involvement in an interview with Austrian newspaper Oe24, stating his excitement for the tour. He is expected to be joined by Beady Eye bandmate Gem Archer, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs on guitar, and drummer Joey Waronker, forming the live band.

The reunion tour comprises 41 dates booked for 2025, starting in UK and Ireland stadiums in July before extending across multiple continents. Support acts confirmed include Cast, Richard Ashcroft, Cage The Elephant, and Ball Park Music. The band is scheduled for three sold-out shows at Scotland's Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on August 8, 9, and 12. Tickets for these shows sold out in record time, with 10 million people from over 100 countries attempting to purchase them.

Despite the tour's success, Oasis's manager Alec McKinlay has clarified that there are no plans for new material or additional tour dates, emphasizing that this reunion is “very much the last time around.” This statement addresses earlier rumors, fueled by Liam Gallagher's social media posts, about a new album. McKinlay revealed that keeping the comeback tour news under wraps involved a limited, trusted group, and the reaction upon announcement was “phenomenal.”

The tour has faced controversy regarding ticket sales, prompting the UK competition watchdog, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), to threaten legal action against Ticketmaster. The CMA is concerned that Ticketmaster misled fans by selling 'platinum' tickets for up to 2.5 times the price of standard tickets without providing additional benefits, often for seats in the same area. Furthermore, Ticketmaster is accused of not clearly informing consumers about two price categories for standing tickets, with cheaper ones selling out before more expensive ones were released, leading to customer frustration and inflated costs. Oasis, through a statement, disavowed responsibility for the dynamic pricing, asserting they were “not aware” the system would be used and that ticketing decisions were left to promoters and management. They stated that while initial plans aimed for a fair experience and to curb touting, the execution failed due to unprecedented demand.

Looking beyond the current tour, rumors have circulated about future Oasis performances, including an offer for four major shows at Knebworth House in 2026 to mark the 30th anniversary of their iconic 1996 concerts, and a potential residency at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium. However, sources close to the band indicate that Noel and Liam Gallagher are not considering any bookings for 2026, planning a well-earned holiday instead. The decision to continue the “cultural movement” or conclude this chapter remains with the brothers, as offers from private bidders and festivals like Coachella and Benicassim have reportedly been “stonewalled.”

The Oasis reunion has also had a ripple effect in the music industry. Kasabian frontman Serge Pizzorno revealed that attending Oasis's first night in Cardiff inspired him to fast-track plans for Kasabian's next album, acknowledging the “surreal and beautiful” experience and the “sonically incredible” sound of the reunited band. Backstage anecdotes from the tour include Noel Gallagher's quirky rider request for Wagon Wheels, and Liam Gallagher notably giving a shout-out to Susan Boyle at their final Murrayfield Stadium show, delighting the singer.
