Nvidia CEO Praises Trump's Re-industrialization Policies

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has lauded Donald Trump's policies aimed at boosting U.S. technology and re-industrialization as "visionary." This endorsement comes as Nvidia partners with Swedish firms, including Ericsson and AstraZeneca, to develop AI infrastructure in Sweden. Nvidia will supply its latest AI data center platform to these Swedish companies.
Huang expressed support for relaxed AI chip export rules, reversing restrictions put in place by the previous Biden administration. He stated that Trump aims for U.S. firms to "win," facilitating the sale of chips globally to generate revenues, tax revenues, and investments within the United States. Huang noted that American technology companies previously held a strong market share in China but have since lost approximately 50% of that share.
The Trump administration's introduction of tariffs is intended to stimulate growth, bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S., and increase tax revenues. However, numerous businesses and economists have cautioned that these tariffs could backfire, potentially causing a recession in the U.S. and a global economic downturn due to increased costs, disrupted supply chains, and diminished consumer and business confidence.
Despite these concerns, Huang emphasized the importance of re-industrialization, securing the supply chain, and ensuring resilience, redundancy, and diversity in the manufacturing supply chain within the United States. He views these policies as "very visionary."
