Nigerian President Unleashes Probe: Second Fake Government Agency Exposed in Scandalous Spree

Nigerian authorities have uncovered a new illegal agency, the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, operating illicitly from within a government building in Abuja. This discovery highlights an ongoing challenge with fraudulent entities attempting to exploit governmental structures.

The individual reported to be at the helm of this unauthorized operation is George Buchi Nwabueze, who is said to have used four different variations of his name. An arrest warrant has now been issued for Nwabueze as investigations proceed into the agency's activities.

In a significant development, three senior government officials have been suspended in connection with this case. This action suggests a level of complicity or negligence within the government, allowing the illegal operation to function from within its premises.

According to Nigeria’s Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), the unearthing of the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office directly resulted from its ongoing investigation into a preceding fraudulent entity. This earlier agency, named the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, had reportedly operated for several years, engaged with official government personnel, and even managed to access public funds, underscoring a persistent vulnerability to such schemes.

The investigations into both the recently discovered illegal agency and its predecessor are currently ongoing. Authorities are expected to continue their efforts to fully expose the extent of these illicit operations and hold all responsible parties accountable.
