Reports circulating online alleging a divorce between popular Nigerian singer Simi and her husband, Adekunle Gold, have been firmly dismissed as false by Simi's manager, Vincent. The manager described the claims as unfounded and based on a fabricated document that rapidly spread across social media platforms, causing concern among fans.

The purported divorce petition, dated February 28, 2026, made several serious allegations. It claimed that the couple's marriage had "irretrievably broken down," citing reasons such as prolonged emotional, financial, and professional control. Furthermore, the document reportedly sought the dissolution of their marriage and arrangements for joint custody of their children. Some online outlets even suggested the petition had been formally filed at the High Court of Lagos State, adding to the credibility concerns surrounding the rumour.

However, Simi's manager, Vincent, was quick to react, strongly insisting on the document's inauthenticity. He highlighted what he termed "clear legal inconsistencies" that unequivocally proved its fraudulent nature. Specifically, Vincent pointed out that stage names, as indicated in the document for the couple, are not legally tenable in any court of justice worldwide. Adding to the evidence of fabrication, he noted that the suit number provided in the document (SUIT NO HCL/FC/2024/0178) was inexplicably backdated to 2024, despite the alleged petition date of 2026.

Simi and Adekunle Gold's relationship began as a strong friendship and professional collaboration before they officially tied the knot in January 2019. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Adejare, in 2020. Earlier this year, the pair were also reported to have welcomed twins, a joyous development widely celebrated by their fanbase.
