Nigerian Billionaire Aliko Dangote Makes Global Power List, TIME 100 Most Influential People for 2026

Aliko Dangote has been named to the TIME 100 Most Influential People for 2026, marking his second appearance after his 2014 inclusion and making him the only Nigerian on this year’s list.
Published on April 15, 2026, the annual ranking highlights individuals shaping global politics, business, technology, and culture.
Dangote joined a group of global figures including Donald Trump, Xi Jinping, Benjamin Netanyahu, Mark Carney, Pope Leo XIV, and technology leaders such as Sundar Pichai and Neal Mohan.
Dangote was recognised in the "Titans" category alongside figures including Reid Wiseman, Michael Dell, Susan Dell, and Ralph Lauren.
As founder of the Dangote Group, Dangote has played a major role in advancing industrialization across Africa through investments in cement, agriculture, food processing, infrastructure, fertilizer, and energy.
His projects, including large-scale manufacturing and refining infrastructure, have helped reduce reliance on imports, expand local production, and create employment across the continent.
His philanthropic efforts through the Aliko Dangote Foundation have also supported healthcare, education, nutrition, disaster relief, and economic empowerment initiatives across Africa, reinforcing his influence beyond business.
Dangote’s long-term expansion plan, Vision 2030, aims to transform the conglomerate into a $100 billion global enterprise by scaling existing operations and expanding into new sectors such as steel, power, and port infrastructure.
Recognition from TIME reflects growing global attention to African industrial leadership and economic transformation.
The acknowledgment also highlights Dangote’s continued influence in shaping Africa’s industrial growth, positioning him as one of the continent’s most impactful business leaders and a key figure in advancing sustainable development and economic self-sufficiency.
