Nicolas Cage's Son's Troubles Worsen After Being Hit With 2nd Lawsuit | In Touch Weekly
s son was hit with a second lawsuit over an alleged 2024 beatdown, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Weston, 34, was named as a defendant in a lawsuit brought by an apartment building management company, Equity Residential Management.
Back in July 2024, a woman using the pseudonym Jane Doe sued Equity Residential over an alleged assault at a building they managed in Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles.
Jane accused the building of being negligent due to it failing to have security on April 28, 2024.
The woman said she was visiting a resident at the complex when she was, “brutally assaulted and battered by an individual who forcibly dragged her by her hair out of the buildings main garage into the common elevator and repeatedly punched her in the head and face.”
The alleged victim said she was dragged by her hair our on a residential floor where she was pinned by a man standing on her neck with his foot and all his weight.
Jane said she lost consciousness and suffered traumatic injuries to her brain, eyes, face, neck, arms, lower back and torso, along with psychological trauma.”
Equity Residential denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
Weston were not named in the case. Last month, Weston and his dad Nicolas, 61, were sued by his mom,
She claimed that on April 28, 2024, Weston attacked her in his building’s parking lot, elevator and lobby.
Christina claimed she suffered severe and life threatening injuries.
Her lawsuit claimed, “[Christina] sustained a brain concussion, multiple contusions, neck and throat injuries, a disfiguring eye injury, dental trauma, tinnitus, abdominal trauma, and PTSD, among other physical and psychological damages. These injuries have required extensive medical care, surgeries, and treatments.”
Christina added Nicolas as a defendant, claiming he has enabled their son’s bad behavior for years.
“Nicolas has been aware of Weston’s history and has nevertheless failed to take action to prevent Weston from committing acts of violence and harming others.
Instead, Nicolas has taken numerous affirmative actions to enable Weston and his criminal behavior,” her lawsuit read.
Nicolas’ lawyer told TMZ, “Ms. Fulton’s decision to file a lawsuit against her own son is not surprising given her past history of litigation against family members.”
The lawyer added, “It appears to be nothing short of a money grab and call for attention. Ms. Fulton correctly advised the responding LAPD officers that her son was in the midst of a mental health crisis at the time of this incident. We will deal with this appropriately, and in a courtroom.”
This week, Christina filed a notice of related case in the lawsuit against Weston and her ex-husband. She listed the case number for the lawsuit filed by Jane Doe.
Christina claimed the case filed by Jane Doe involved the same parties and claims. It appears as though Christina is Jane in the lawsuit against the apartment building, but that has yet to be officially confirmed by Christina.
Now, Equity Residential filed a cross-complaint, obtained by In Touch, in the case filed by Jane Doe. They named Weston as the defendant.
In the filing, they claim Jane Doe never named her assailant. Based on the notice of related case filed by Christina in the other case, Equity Residential said they believe Weston to be the alleged assailant.
Lawyers for Equity Residential argued, “[Weston] caused and are completely responsible for the injuries and damages alleged by [Jane] as set forth in the complaint.”
The apartment management company demanded Weston be liable for any damages awarded in the case filed by Jane seeking unspecified damages. Both cases are ongoing.
Domenick Nati, a rep for Weston said the lawsuit filed by Christina was, “a very unfortunate situation.”
He added, “Weston and his team are remaining focused on his three upcoming films, two new music singles, and we are happy to report he is approaching one year of sobriety.”
Weston’s lawyer, Michael A. Goldstein, told In Touch, “Weston’s father, Nicolas Cage, had absolutely nothing to do with Weston’s emotional state or condition leading up to the incident with his mother, Christina Fulton.”
He added, “Christina’s efforts to now blame his father for that incident are absolutely wrong and nothing more than an attempt to generate media attention and force him to pay her money.”
