NBC Introduces Fresh Dramas, Comedies, and Reality Shows for Fall 2026

NBC has unveiled its comprehensive programming slate for the upcoming 2026-2027 broadcast season, featuring an array of new dramas, comedies, unscripted series, and returning favorites. The network revealed its fall schedule and provided first-look details during its upfront presentation to advertisers, held at Radio City Music Hall.

The event, kicked off by a vibrant laser light show and a musical monologue from “Las Culturistas” hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, emphasized NBCU’s enduring brand and relevant programming.

For the new season, NBC has ordered four new scripted shows. Two dramas, “Line of Fire” and a reboot of “The Rockford Files,” will join the lineup alongside two new comedies,Sunset P.I.” and “Newlyweds.” “Line of Fire” and “Newlyweds” are slated for a fall debut, while “The RockfordFiles” and “Sunset P.I.” are scheduled for a midseason launch in January and February, respectively. The decision to hold the latter two for midseason was strategic, allowing them to anchor strong time slots, with “The Rockford Files” potentially benefiting from “The Traitors” as a lead-in.

“The Rockford Files” reboot stars David Boreanaz as James Rockford, a recently paroled private investigator solving cases across Los Angeles with charm and sharp instincts. The series is written and executive produced by Mike Daniels and also stars Michaela McManus, Felix Solis, and Jacki Weaver.

Meanwhile, “Line of Fire,” created by Josh Safran, follows a family of law enforcement agents caught in a deadly conspiracy that tests their loyalty and ethics. The drama stars Peter Krause and Hope Davis alongside Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom, and Charlie Barnett.

On the comedy side, “Sunset P.I.” from Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici stars Jake Johnson and Jane Levy as Los Angeles private investigators carrying on the city’s long tradition of quirky detectives. The cast also includes Langston Kerman, Mary Shalaby, and Keith David.

“Newlyweds,” a multi-camera comedy written by Gail Lerner, follows a spontaneous later in life romance between a free spirited woman and a reserved professor. The series stars real-life couple Téa Leoni and Tim Daly, with Jamie Lee Curtis appearing as a recurring guest star and executive producer.

NBC is also expanding its unscripted lineup with a broadcast version of The Traitors hosted by Alan Cumming, featuring non celebrity contestants competing for a $250,000 prize. The network has also ordered a game show adaptation of Wordle hosted by Savannah Guthrie.

Returning unscripted series include America’s Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, Password, and Destination X.
