A total of 44 college and international prospects have been invited to the 2025 G League Elite Camp, aka the G League Combine, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link).

The list of invitees, as reported by Scotto, is as follows:

These prospects will meet with NBA evaluators and scrimmage for two days in Chicago starting on May 9, ahead of the league’s annual draft combine. A small group of standout players from this event are generally invited to stay in Chicago for the full-fledged combine that takes place immediately following the G League Elite Camp. Typically, at least a half-dozen players move on.

While the May 11-18 combine focuses on the top-ranked players in each draft class, the G League Elite Camp offers opportunity to prospects further down boards who are more likely to go undrafted.

None of the 44 players invited to the G League Elite Camp show up in the top 50 of ESPN’s list of this year’s top prospects. Williams (No. 58) and Lewis (No. 59) are the top-ranked prospects for the event, per ESPN.

The G League Elite Camp will give invitees who declared for the draft as early entrants an opportunity to see where they stand ahead of the draft withdrawal deadline on May 28. Not all of the players who participate in this event will remain in the draft pool.

, , and are among the current NBA players who once took part in the G League Elite Camp. Last year’s list of invitees was highlighted by , though he ultimately received a combine invite before either event tipped off.

, , , , , , and were among the other 2024 participants who signed two-way contracts with NBA teams this past year, while finished the 2024/25 season on a standard contract in Sacramento.

The NBA will announce the Coach of the Year award winner on Monday evening, the league’s PR department tweets.

(Cavaliers), (Pistons) and (Rockets) are the three finalists. Atkinson, who led Cleveland to the best record in the East, is considered a heavy favorite to win the award.

The Executive of the Year award will be announced on Tuesday and the Social Justice Champion will be revealed on Wednesday.

Could solve the ‘s offensive issues? According to Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, the guard has been increasingly projected around the league as a potential target for Orlando.

President of basketball operations indicated in a postseason press conference that upgrades this offseason would likely come via trades.

“Most of our roster upgrades are going to have to come more through swapping than just adding,” Weltman said. “The reason we’ve been a good team the last couple of years — and I do believe we are a good team — is because we’ve got an elite defensive backbone. And as as we look to improve our offense, we have to be very cognizant of not unraveling the DNA of our team. That’s what we have to balance this summer.”

Orlando had the league’s worst three-point percentage and Weltman vowed to address that problem, as well as others.

“What we need is proven shot-making, proven offensive play, someone that’s going to come in and help augment our weakness,” Weltman said. “Clearly, we need to get better offensively. Clearly, we need to shoot the ball better. Those are the goals and that’s the lens we need to look at as we enter the offseason. I don’t think anything’s off the table. Veteran help, proven offensive help is what we’re going to be looking for.”

Simons made 70 starts for the Trail Blazers this season, averaging 19.3 points and 4.8 assists per game. He shot 42.6% overall and 36.3% from beyond the three-point arc. Simons is entering his walk year and will make $27.7MM next season.

Simons was believed to be one of the players the Blazers were willing to move prior to this season’s trade deadline. However, general manager didn’t find a suitable offer.

Orlando seemingly made a major upgrade on the wing last offseason by signing free agent guard . The former Nugget had a disappointing season with the Magic, averaging 8.7 points in 29.6 minutes per game while making 77 starts. His three-point percentage was a subpar 34.2%, his worst since the 2015/16 season. KCP made over 40% of his long-range attempts in his previous two seasons with Denver.

Losing after he played just 35 games was a major blow. Suggs averaged 16.2 points per game before he underwent season-ending surgery but Weltman’s comments indicated that Suggs’ return alone won’t put Orlando over the hump.

The have begun the interviewing process for their next president of basketball operations, Marc Stein and Jake Fischer report in their latest rumor round-up at Substack.

The Hawks fired general manager last month and promoted to that role, but Atlanta wants to pair him with another top executive.

GM, former Nuggets GM and former Kings GM have already undergone initial interviews for the position, apparently via Zoom, per Stein and Fischer.

Former BYU and EuroLeague swingman and G League president are also on the Hawks’ radar.

The Celtics issued a clean injury report on Sunday, signaling they’ll be at full strength when they take the court for Monday’s home contest.

Holiday missed the final three games of Boston’s first-round series against Orlando due to a strained hamstring.

Holiday will likely be matched up defensively against the Knicks’ top offensive threat, . Brunson averaged 26.3 points and 5.8 assists against the Celtics this season but Boston swept the four-game season series.

Holiday, who won the NBA’s annual Sportsmanship Award, averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals during the regular season while starting 62 games. The scoring average was his lowest since his rookie season, but he’s a steadying force.

Holiday was instrumental in Boston’s title run last season, averaging 13.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists while committing just 1.5 turnovers per contest and earning second-team All-Defensive honors.

After a third straight play-in appearance that fell short of a playoff berth, the face an interesting offseason, as NBA insider Yossi Gozlan of The Third Apron (Substack link) previews.

Chicago guard submitted an encouraging performance during his inaugural season with Chicago, just in time for him to hit restricted free agency this summer. Gozlan notes that a club with cap space, like Brooklyn, could potentially give Giddey an offer sheet, but the Bulls will have the rights to match it. Gozlan projects that Giddey’s play could fetch him a yearly salary in the range of $20-$30MM.

Standout guard , who will be eligible for a contract extension next season, could earn a significant annual raise if he forgos an extension and instead waits until he reaches unrestricted free agency in 2026.

As Gozlan writes, veterans , , , and are all on expiring deals, and many of those players could be moved in offseason trades rather than extended.

Seasoned guard , who has seemingly been getting better in each successive playoff game against Golden State, is confident that his young teammates will be prepared for Game 7, writes Marc J. Spears of Andscape.

VanVleet scored 29 points and handed out eight assists while leading Houston to a 115-107 Game 6 victory to knot the series at 3-3.

“We got so much talent just as long as they don’t get sidetracked,” VanVleet said. “Game 1 it was like, ‘Oh my God.’ And then Game 3 on the road was a little shaky. But other than that, they are so good. Just go out there and play your game. I just try to keep them calm and keep them focused on just playing the game. Don’t get worried about all the other stuff.”

The Rockets fell to a 3-1 hole against the lower-seeded, more experienced Warriors, but their youth, size, and athleticism has helped propel the team to consecutive victories. Now, the action shifts to Houston for a decisive Game 7.

The next major playoff test for  point guard will be grappling with the All-Defensive backcourt, writes Zach Braziller of The New York Post.

The reigning Clutch Player of the Year averaged 31.5 PPG, 8.2 APG, 4.0 RPG in New York’s first round playoff series victory against Detroit, while fending off top point-of-attack Pistons defender .

The Celtics’ imposing defensive duo of and isn’t looking past Brunson either.

“Big-time player,” White said of Brunson. “Seems to make the big plays for them. He’s had an unbelievable year, and obviously these playoffs, he’s taken it to another level. … Try to make it as difficult as we can for 48 minutes.”

The are at risk of losing their first-round pick in this year’s draft, but president of basketball operations doesn’t regret including it in a 2020 trade with Oklahoma City, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

In the six-player draft-day deal, Morey agreed to send the pick — with top-six protection — to the as an incentive for taking Al Horford‘s contract. The package he got in return included shooting guard Danny Green, who had two productive years in Philadelphia.

“First off, I feel very good about that trade because it put us in a great spot,” Morey told Pompey. “It was before coach [Nick Nurse] was here, but we were the one-seed going into the playoffs. Usually, that gives you a 40-50% chance to make the finals. So I feel good that we got good value out of that trade. Danny Green was great for us. Seth Curry was [acquired in] a different trade. But anyway, I feel good about that.”

Morey never imagined at the time that the pick would be so valuable five years later. But with the Sixers coming off an injury-filled 24-win season, they desperately need to keep it to add some young talent to their roster.

Philadelphia will have the fifth-best odds heading into the May 12 lottery, creating a 10.5% chance at landing the No. 1 pick and a 42.1% chance of moving into the top four. However, if two or more teams pass them in the lottery, the Sixers will be left empty-handed and OKC will get the pick to add another prospect to its loaded roster. There’s a 36% chance of that happening.

If the pick doesn’t convey this year, Philadelphia will owe its 2026 first-rounder to the Thunder with top-four protection. It will be top-four protected again in 2027, and Oklahoma City will receive a second-rounder instead if it still doesn’t convey that year.

Pompey points out that the Sixers have few options to improve their roster this summer outside of the draft because of massive contracts for Joel Embiid and Paul George that would be difficult to move because they’re both coming off injury-plagued seasons.

Pompey adds that the Horford deal was understandable at the time because he had just completed a disappointing first season after signing a four-year, $97MM contract in free agency. He proved to be an awkward fit at power forward alongside Embiid and eventually became a very expensive backup center.

Morey also notes that teams are becoming less willing to trade away future first-rounders, but he believes it made sense to send the team’s 2026 pick to Washington in a February deal that brought back Jared Butler and four second-rounders. In a separate trade, he reacquired the Sixers’ second-round pick for this year from Dallas, along with Quentin Grimes, who turned into a late-season surprise.

“That’s going to be a tool for us,” Morey said of the 35th overall pick. “We have 64% odds to have a top pick in this draft. That’ll be another tool. If you look at teams that make aggressive moves like us and then have a rough season, most of the time those teams have, like, no draft picks. We have above-average draft picks going forward to improve the team for next season. We have a whole set of younger players … a lot of tools in our arsenal to upgrade the team, whereas most teams that go into the season with the third-best title odds like we did and have a rough year, [they] don’t have much maneuverability. We feel like we have a lot of maneuverability with our assets going forward and the young players Coach (Nurse) developed.”

The Celtics are getting healthier as they prepare for the start of their second-round series against the Knicks, writes Matt Vautour of MassLive. After Saturday’s practice, coach Joe Mazzulla offered an encouraging update on Jrue Holiday, who missed the final three games of the Orlando series with a strained right hamstring.

“He was able to work on everything he wanted to work on,” Mazzulla said. “He’s getting better every day.”

Holiday’s return will be especially important in the matchup with New York, as he’s likely to be the primary defender against Jalen Brunson.

Jaylen Brown told reporters that he’s feeling better despite dealing with a posterior impingement in his right knee that has been bothering him for several weeks. The condition hasn’t gone away, but Brown is learning how to play through it.

“I’m just trying to trend back in the direction of being 100 percent,” Brown said. “Physically holding my ground and still making plays for our team. Even with guys being out — Jrue, (Jayson Tatum) missed a game — being able to step in and fill a role. I feel I’m decent. Now, moving forward, it’s a whole different ballgame, different team, different challenges. My focus is fixed on that. Structurally, everything is fine. There’s some other stuff going on, but I’m trending in the right direction.”
