Natasha’s Recall Controversy + Wike Holds Thanksgiving, Says Peter Obi Won’t Be President - Trending With Ojy Okpe - Arise News

A Nigerian Federal High Court has ordered the Senate to reinstate Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central, deeming her six-month suspension “excessive”
While the court fined her N5 million for contempt over a satirical Facebook post, it emphasized that the Senate’s disciplinary powers shouldn’t deny constituents representation.
The Senate, however, stated it won’t recall her until it receives the full judgment and she complies with the N5M fine and apology orders, though Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan plans to resume legislative duties on Tuesday July 8th.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike held a thanksgiving for completed Abuja projects, including the N39 billion renovated Abuja International Conference Centre (renamed after President Tinubu), which he defended amidst criticism and claimed it is already generating significant revenue.
Wike used the event to attack political rivals, particularly Peter Obi,
Wike also accused Rotimi Amaechi’s wife of receiving N48 billion in alleged fraudulent NDDC funds, challenging President Tinubu to release a forensic audit report to corroborate his claims.
