Swakopmund: Namibia will host its inaugural Effective Communicators Conference from 16 to 18 July 2025 at The Dome in Swakopmund, attracting over 250 communication professionals from across the country and abroad.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the three-day event, held under the theme ‘Effective Communication of the Agenda’, aims to strengthen communication capacity across Government, State-owned enterprises, and the private sector. ‘This conference offers a vital platform for skills development, strategic dialogue, and collaboration. It is a timely initiative that supports the effective delivery of Namibia’s national agenda through impactful communication,’ said Jata Kazondu, Acting CEO of the Namibia Press Agency and convener of the event.
A number of high-level representatives are expected to attend, including former South African President Thabo Mbeki, ministers, and delegates from local and regional authorities. The event will be officially opened by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus.
The conference will feature a varied programme of local and international experts in media, public relations, and strategic communication. Swakop Uranium and Pupkewitz Toyota are sponsors of the event, reaffirming their commitment to communication excellence in Namibia. Winnie Mukupuki, Deputy Head of Swakop Uranium’s office, said the company is proud to support initiatives that promote public engagement.
‘When government institutions, the corporate sector, and the public are aligned with national goals and aspirations, the outcome is beneficial for the entire country,’ she said. Echoing this sentiment, Pupkewitz Toyota Manager Jaco Barnard stated, ‘We believe that effective communication is key to driving positive change in both the public and private sectors. Supporting the Government Effective Communicators Conference aligns with our values of collaboration, transparency, and building strong relationships for a better Namibia.’
The conference is expected to become a cornerstone event in the country’s professional development calendar for communicators.
