The installation showcases a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound composition from award-winning composer Dan Jones.

Visitors can enjoy a unique and ever-evolving viewer experience, with interpretations of the artwork shifting, depending on where it is presented.

The end of the installation will be celebrated with a family science and tech event, Sci Tech Extravaganza, returning for its second year on September 20.

This event is designed to inspire young minds, spark curiosity and encourage engagement with science, technology, engineering and maths related learning.

Dr Kath Mackay, chief scientific officer for Bruntwood SciTech said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming the extraordinary Museum of the Moon to Alderley Park.

“The installation has captured the attention and imaginations of visitors across the globe, so to now have it displayed in our beautiful parkland is incredible.

“And what better way to celebrate its time with us than with the return of SciTech Extravaganza.

“It’s a unique opportunity to showcase the world of science and technology at its very best, and nurture curiosity and innovation in STEM related fields.

“We look forward to welcoming families back for another unforgettable day, and to help inspire a new generation of scientists, mathematicians and engineers.”

Artwork will be featured alongside a host of activities and entertainment. Three ‘Super Cells’ shows by the Royal Institute of Science, have designed for three age ranges, four to seven, seven to 11 and 11–14.

A balloon scientist will also host discussions on elasticity, expansion, aerodynamics, pressure, static electricity and many other topics through balloon art.

Crumble coding sessions will be led by Skills Supply.

Face painting, DJ sets and a wide range of pop-up food and drink stalls promise to keep families entertained.

The celebration takes place in Glasshouse, a 150,000 sq ft innovation hub home to companies in tech, software and app development, AI, fintech and gaming.

SciTech Extravaganza runs from 10am top 3pm on Saturday, September 20.

Tickets cost £8.50 per person and all activities are included. Children under three are free.
