Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has bagged the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), held Saturday night in Lagos.

Aigbe won the award for her impressive role in Farmer’s Bride, beating strong contenders like Meg Otanwa (Inside Life), Tina Mba (Suspicion), Ireti Doyle (All’s Fair in Love), Ini Dima-Okojie (Skeleton Coast), Omoni Oboli (Wives on Strike 3), and Darasimi Nadi (Aburo).

Her performance was praised for its emotional range and depth, putting her place as one of Nollywood’s most reliable supporting actresses.

According to organisers, the AMVCA recognises outstanding work in television, film, and digital content across the continent, with winners selected through public voting and a panel of industry experts.

The four-day event began on Wednesday with the Iconic Night and, on Thursday, Cultural Day, where guests showcased traditional fashion and performances ahead of Saturday’s award ceremony.

The 2025 nominations covered content released between January and December 2024, with top titles like Lisabi: The Uprising, Skeleton Coast, House of Ga’a, and Freedom Way receiving multiple nods.
