Mercury likely to soar from tomorrow in state | Ranchi News - The Times of India
Ranchi: After two days of respite from scorching heat due to rain and hailstorm, the mercury level is again likely to soar from Monday in the state, except for Kolhan and Santhal Pargana, said the Ranchi office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Head of IMD-Ranchi, Abhishek Anand, said, "Temperature will rise from Monday, except Kolhan and Santhal Pargana which would likely experience rain."
Ranchi recorded 28.1°C maximum temperature, a 3.6 °C rise from Friday. Jamshedpur recorded 27.8°C, an increase of 0.2°C, and Daltonganj recorded 33.6°C, an increase of 8.5°C. Palamu recorded 34.7°C, the highest maximum temperature in the state, IMD's daily weather bulletin published on Saturday evening reported.
Light to moderate rainfall was observed at most places, while thunderstorm, hail and heavy rain were observed at isolated places across the state over the past 24 hours. Kersai (Simdega) reported 85.6mm rain, the highest in the state. Ranchi reported 41 mm, Jamshedpur 39.2 mm, and Chaibasa 26.7 mm rainfall. Hailstorms occurred at Itki, Bero, and Tupudana in Ranchi besides Lohardaga, the IMD bulletin added.
