Massive fire broke out on First Street of Pellakuru Colony
NEW DELHI: A huge fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday at a scrap factory located on First Street of Pellakuru Colony in Kovur, Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh.According to officials, the blaze originated within the factory premises and rapidly intensified due to the large quantities of iron scrap, waste materials, and plastic stored at the site.
Thick plumes of smoke engulfed the surrounding area, raising alarm among local residents. Police and fire department teams swiftly reached the spot and are currently engaged in efforts to douse the flames. Kovur Sub-Inspector Ranganadh Gowd confirmed that emergency services were alerted early in the morning and responded promptly. "Firefighting teams are on-site, working to bring the situation under control," he said. Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the fire. Investigations are underway to ascertain whether it was triggered by an electrical short circuit or any other deliberate act.
