Martine McCutcheon’s estranged mum reaches out to daughter with heartbreaking plea after cutting off after son’s death

MARTINE McCutcheon's estranged mum has reached out to her daughter with a heartbreaking plea.
The Love Actually actress' brother Laurence John - also known as LJ - tragically passed away in 2022 at the age of just 31-years-old.
Her mother, Jenny Tomlin, 69, suffered from an emotional breakdown as she seemingly pushed her daughter away.
Now, she wants to reconcile with Martine McCutcheon, 49, and apologise for cutting her off after his death.
In a new interview, she couldn't help but reminisce about the amazing times she shared with her daughter.
She told OK!: "There was nothing she didn’t include me in. We did all the wonderful stuff – the premiere of Love Actually, the restaurants.
"But the memories I cherish are of us just sitting on my bed, bringing up old memories and laughing. I miss that."
She admitted that after the death of her son, she lost contact with the former EastEnders star.
"When I lost LJ, I detached. I was so heartbroken I couldn’t talk to Martine," she revealed.
"There was no big row – Martine tried to contact me for months, but I didn’t answer.
"Martine was grieving and needed me, too. I want the chance to say sorry. I miss her so much – it physically hurts."
The pair did share a reunion in October last year, but it didn't go exactly how she would have wanted it as she said the atmosphere felt 'heavy'.
Jenny told the publication: "Martine texted me out of the blue.
"She’d moved into a new home and wondered if my husband Alan could do some painting.
"We jumped at the chance and went over, but we didn’t talk in depth. It was awkward and the atmosphere felt heavy."
She added: "Eventually, I did pull myself out of that dark hole, but maybe it was too late."
"I abandoned her. I was so wrapped up in my own grief that I was neglecting my other child.
"That was the start of it, and things just… snowballed. And here we are."
With this in mind, she also reflected on another high-profile family feud, as David and Victoria Beckham struggle to reconcile with their son Brooklyn.
She added: "I understand the painVictoria Beckhamis going through over herestrangement from Brooklyn.
"He was her firstborn, too. It’s a heartbreaking situation for anybody who is estranged or has lost their child."
This comes as Martine filed for bankruptcy - just 11 months after her marriage split.
Official documents show the former soap star has filed a petition for insolvency due to a debt she owes to a finance company - just two months after selling her family home at a slashed price.
