Man United stars Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Zirzkee respond to Kobbie Mainoo update
Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Zirkzee have reacted to Kobbie Mainoo's latest Instagram post as speculation continues to grow around the Manchester United midfielder's future.
Mainoo, 20, could leave United this summer as Ruben Amorim looks to rebuild his squad following their worst-ever Premier League season. The Reds finished 15th after winning just 11 of their 38 top-flight matches.
England international Mainoo made his first-team debut in 2023 and soon became a regular starter under Erik ten Hag. His impressive performances earned him a place in the England squad at Euro 2024.
However, since Ruben Amorim was appointed as United's new head coach in November, he has struggled for form and fitness. In fact, Mainoo started just four of their final 15 top-flight fixtures.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Mainoo, who is valued at around £70million, and the Reds could be tempted to cash in on the player to free up funds for the rest of the squad.
But while talk has increased about Mainoo's future, he has been spotted at Wimbledon during his time off. In an Instagram post, Mainoo opted to use a series of images from his post-season period from United, with three photos showing him at SW19 and watching some tennis at court one.
Others included Mainoo in the gym working hard and chilling on a football pitch with a retro England shirt. He appears to have enjoyed his summer off before returning to pre-season at United.
Among those to like Mainoo's post, however, were Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Zirkzee. Both players, like Mainoo, have been at the centre of transfer talk this summer, but for different reasons.
Fernandes was wanted by Al-Hilal for the Club World Cup but the United captain, 30, turned down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia in order to stay at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Zirkzee's future has come under question after enduring a difficult start to his career in Manchester, after signing from Bologna last summer.
Elsewhere, it was reported last week that Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia have informed United that they wish to leave the club.
