Silva was born in April 2000 and was Jota's younger brother. He grew up in Gondomar, northern Portugal, with his parents Joaquim Silva and Isabel Silva.
Silva wasn't playing at the top level in Europe but was still a talented footballer in his own right.
Jota's death shocked the sports world. The striker had recently won the Premier League and married his childhood sweetheart. The loss of his brother only added to the heartbreak.
Silva, 25, began his football journey at local club Gondomar SC before joining Porto’s youth team in 2011.
He spent six years there honing his skills, before moving to Paços de Ferreira. After a loan spell at Padroense, Silva later joined Famalicão’s U23 side.

Jota and Silva were heading to Santander, Spain's northern coast and were planning to rest at Benavente before getting back on the road.
Jota was to board a ferry that would take him back to England, per The Athletic.
