Luxury Lifestyles Exposed: Despicable Enterprise Bankrolled Global Getaways

A major drug dealing operation that flooded the streets of Preston with crack and heroin has been dismantled, culminating in the sentencing of its leader, Karl Brown, to nine years and six months in jail. Brown orchestrated a 27-strong gang, managing multiple drug lines and reaping substantial profits from his "despicable enterprise," which funded lavish holidays to destinations like Brazil, Turkey, and the UAE.

The extent of Brown's illicit wealth was revealed during a police raid on his Preston home, where officers discovered £40,000 in cash and a mobile phone directly linking him to the "Kyle line." Based in Ribbleton, Brown and his primary associate, Efosa Gelmini, ensured a round-the-clock supply of crack cocaine and heroin across Preston. Their network operated several notorious drug lines, including Batman, Bigman, Omar, Kyle, Ironman, Slim, Nigel, Ed, and Salford. From August 2023 to June 2025, the gang actively advertised their wares through block texts, promising "fat 10s," "proper half Gs," and the "best/biggest about." They even sent messages to users announcing "new grafters" and declaring they were "back proper."

Evidence presented in court included recordings filmed by the gang members themselves, showing them selling drugs on the streets. Further footage captured during the operation depicted gang members handling vast quantities of cocaine and meticulously counting large sums of cash. The decisive raid on Brown's residence occurred on June 13, 2025. Subsequent searches at another address linked to Brown uncovered a significant cache of Class A drugs, individual street wraps cleverly hidden under insulation in the attic, a cocaine press, and a dangerous machete.

Efosa Gelmini, 23, from Manchester, played a crucial role in the operation, acting as a major supplier of cocaine and heroin to various Organised Crime Gangs (OCGs) in Preston. Gelmini also managed his own 'Ace' line, which operated out of Manchester. Telephony evidence demonstrated his frequent travel between Preston and Manchester to deliver orders and his constant communication with the managers of the various deal lines. Police searches connected to Gelmini also led to the seizure of Class A drug wraps and numerous mobile phones.

In June 2025, a series of coordinated raids were conducted by officers across several addresses in Preston, resulting in the seizure of large quantities of drugs and cash. A total of 27 individuals were charged in connection with the extensive operation. Following a 10-month sentencing period, 24 members of the gang have been handed jail sentences, amounting to a combined total of over 100 years.

Det Insp Richard Clancy of Lancashire Police commented on the impact of the operation, stating: “These organised crime gangs brought misery to our communities by operating multiple drugs lines and fuelling the illegal supply of cocaine and heroin on our streets. Thanks to our hard work and relentless efforts, 24 members have now been given jail sentences for a combined total of more Manifest 100 years. We will continue to target those who profit from drug dealing, dismantle criminal networks and bring those responsible before the courts to face justice.”
