Loki Star's Tragic Plea: Jack Veal, 17, Reveals Homelessness in Heartbreaking Video

Marvel actor Jack Veal, known for his portrayal of the younger version of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki in the Disney+ series, has publicly appealed for help after revealing he has become homeless at the age of 17. The British actor took to TikTok on Monday to detail his dire situation, stating he had been sleeping on the streets and was currently residing in an unsafe trailer in London.
Veal explained that he left his home due to alleged physical and emotional abuse, leading to a difficult upbringing. He also shared his struggles with mental health, disclosing that he has autism, ADHD, and is being screened for bipolar disorder and psychosis. Unable to stay with his grandparents due to his grandfather’s terminal illness, Veal found himself with nowhere else to turn.
Despite seeking assistance from social services and explaining his circumstances, Veal claimed he was initially refused help. His current living conditions were dire; the trailer he was staying in had smashed windows, lacked electricity, and was two hours away from his work as a personal trainer, making daily commutes extremely challenging. “Life is hard. At the moment, I have nothing else. I am on my knees begging for you guys to just share this, do something, spread the message of how the government are treating kids,” Veal pleaded in his video, demonstrating the cramped quarters and broken windows of his temporary shelter.
His plea resonated widely, leading to an outpouring of support from TikTok users. Comments flooded in with advice on shelter options, personal experiences of homelessness, well wishes, and even offers for him to stay in spare bedrooms. In a follow-up video later that day, Veal expressed gratitude for the help, confirming he was able to sleep at a friend’s place for the night. However, he emphasized that his main objective was to receive stable support from the official channels, stating, “If I hop from place to place, there will never have be any stability in my life. And that’s why I need in the state that I’m in. I need stability.”
On Tuesday, Veal posted another update, noting he was returning to his cold trailer after his night at a friend’s. Despite the ongoing challenges, a significant positive development emerged later that day. A teary-eyed but smiling Veal shared that social services had contacted him, requesting a meeting to potentially place him in foster care and provide accommodation support. He credited the public’s immense support and awareness for this breakthrough. “I don’t know what you guys have done, but it’s gotten out there, and it’s really, really helped me, and they’re taking action now,” he said, expressing immense gratitude.
Beyond his role in 'Loki', Jack Veal’s acting credits include appearances in 'The End of the F***ing World', 'Call the Midwife', 'Tin Cup', 'The Corrupted', 'Come Away', and most recently, 'The Peripheral' in 2022.
