Leicester City relegated from Premier League

Leicester City's Premier League status has ended following Liverpool's 1-0 victory at the King Power stadium. Trent Alexander-Arnold's late goal sealed Leicester's fate, relegating them to the second-tier English Championship. This marks the fifth time Leicester City, including Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi's club, has faced relegation from the Premier League. They currently have 18 points from 33 games, with five matches remaining in the season.

Ndidi was in the starting lineup for Leicester but was later substituted for Oliver Skipp. Southampton, featuring Super Eagles players Paul Onuachu and Joe Aribo, were the first team confirmed for relegation this season.

In another match, Chelsea secured a 2-1 victory over west-London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage, with Pedro Neto scoring a late winner. Alex Iwobi, another Super Eagles midfielder, scored for Fulham, but Chelsea's Tyrique George equalized before Neto's decisive goal. This win moved Chelsea up to fifth in the Premier League standings, intensifying their battle for Champions League qualification and easing pressure on manager Enzo Maresca.

Fulham started strongly, with Raul Jimenez challenging Chelsea's Levi Colwill. Reece James lost possession, leading to Ryan Sessegnon assisting Iwobi, who scored with a left-footed shot from the edge of the area. Chelsea struggled initially, with Nicolas Jackson missing opportunities. Jadon Sancho was brought on at half-time but failed to ignite Chelsea's attack immediately. Fulham's strong defense, led by Sander Berge and Calvin Bassey, stifled Chelsea's advances.

Despite Marco Silva's late substitution of Harry Wilson, it was Chelsea's 19-year-old substitute, George, who made an immediate impact by grabbing an equaliser. Neto's subsequent half-volley secured the win for Chelsea.
